Brian Buchanan is a founding partner in the firm and specializes in trial and appellate litigation involving commercial transactions and complex business disputes, in both federal and state courts. He is an experienced litigator who is skilled in simplifying complex matters for courts and juries, leading to favorable verdicts in bench and jury trials. He has also successfully resolved numerous matters by favorable settlement or by otherwise achieving pre-trial dismissal of claims against his clients.

In his commercial litigation practice, he works directly with business owners, senior management, and general counsel to identify business and litigation objectives, manage risk, and protect corporate and personal assets; this work begins with contract negotiations and drafting, and continues through all phases of dispute resolution, including pre-litigation negotiations, as well as mediations, trials, and appeals. Whether through negotiation or litigation, the hallmark of his practice is the ability to bring about cost-effective business resolutions to a vast array of business problems.

Mr. Buchanan represents a wide range of clients that include real estate developers, contractors, material suppliers, banks, insurance carriers, manufacturers, retailers, distributors, logistics companies, and transport carriers, as well as non-profit organizations, trustees, and executors in trust and probate litigation matters. His commercial litigation practice has most recently handled matters involving intellectual property, alleged breaches of contract, business torts, debt collection, construction defect claims, and a variety of real estate issues. Mr. Buchanan’s real estate litigation experience ranges from the resolution of disputes concerning the financing of projects, to construction defects litigation, to disputes between commercial landlords and tenants, to claims between buyers and sellers.
